The Community School Initiative (CSI) Grant

The Community School Initiative (CSI) grant is funded by the ABC Community School Partnership.  Partners include Bernalillo County, the City of Albuquerque, APS, United Way of Central NM, and the Albuquerque Business Education Compact.  The objective of this partnership is to provide elementary and middle school-age children opportunities to thrive in before and/or after school time environments that encourage improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.

The Rio Grande Educational Collaborative (RGEC) offers before and after school care for students in Zia's "old cafeteria." For more information and registration information, go to: http://www.rgec.org/

Zia Elementary's After School Programs

Zia Elementary is proud to announce that it again is a recipient of a Community School Initiative (CSI) grant that provides FREE afterschool programs for its students during school year 2016-2017! Please carefully note the following details about this special program. 

  • Students will receive notification by Friday, September 2 whether or not they have a spot in a club/class.
  • Clubs/classes begin the week of September 5 and most of them continue through the first or second week of May.
